About EFIAGES

EFIAGES (Fellowship in Essential Endoscopy): This course is to train surgeons in the field of basic GI flexible endoscopy. This course is for surgeons willing to start their practice by learning the art and science of diagnostic gastroscopy, diagnostic colonoscopy and basic therapeutic endoscopy.

Eligibility Criteria

  • IAGES MEMBERSHIP IS A MUST. Those who are not members may apply for membership online. See the website www.iages.in for more details.
  • Post graduate degree in surgery is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in endoscopy (including experience as a postgraduate resident).
  • Certificate of experience from the HOD of the hospital/Institution required.
  • Attach soft copies of MBBS, MS/DNB certificate, and MCI registration certificate during registration.

Fellowship Categories

Non-Examination Category

  • Suitable for faculty in teaching institutions and surgeons with >10 years experience in endoscopy.
  • Significant number of endoscopies (>250) including therapeutic procedures.
  • Fellowship awarded on satisfactory completion of course and informal interview.

FIAGES Fellowship Guidelines

About FIAGES

FIAGES (Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery): This fellowship program is designed to train surgeons in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and minimal access surgery.

Eligibility Criteria

  • IAGES MEMBERSHIP IS MANDATORY. Apply online at www.iages.in.
  • Post graduate degree in surgery is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in laparoscopic surgery (including postgraduate training).
  • Experience certificate from HOD, Employer, or self (if running own hospital).

Fellowship Categories

Non-Examination Category

  • Faculty in teaching institutions or >10 years laparoscopy experience.
  • IAGES membership mandatory.
  • >250 laparoscopies in last 10 years.
  • Fellowship awarded after course completion and interview.

Examination Category

  • 1. Minimum 2 years experience in laparoscopic surgery.
  • 2. Experience certificate from HOD/Employer/Self.
  • 3. Online Log Book with 25 cases (Assisted/Operated laparoscopic surgeries).
